However, if you need to stop/start the services, I would rather stop services, copy mdf & ldf files to another directory (that can be DFS replicated) and then start services (all in a scheduled batch file), instead of messing SQL directories with DFS.<BR/><BR/>I would test this in virtual lab before anything else and only use this procedure as a method of having a backup of your files (one writer, rest of the nodes read only). The files replicated by DFS cannot (should not) be opened for writing simultaneously because of 'last writer wins' policy (one of the basics of DFS) must be taken into account also.J.A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12443903580942822247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29795545.post-81540919010959963622008-05-21T22:46:00.000+02:002008-05-21T22:46:00.000+02:00Do you know is it possible to host SQL server data...Do you know is it possible to host SQL server data files (mdb / ldb) on dfs?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29795545.post-81081905069969957802007-11-30T16:16:00.000+01:002007-11-30T16:16:00.000+01:00Thanks a lot!
